OverviewReporting to the Vice President of European Operations, the Sr Director for Field Marketing will be leading a business strategic function with focus to deliver benefits to our customers.The individual is responsible for translating a corporate marketing vision and strategy into an annual Marketing Plan for EMEA, which ultimately enables the sales organisation to successfully position solutions to the customers and to meet business results.ResponsibilitiesMain responsibilities include:

  • Active member of the Commercial EMEA Leadership team
  • Provides leadership, direction and coaching to the EMEA Field Marketing team to meet objectives with a customer centric approach and enabling the Sales organisation to deliver successful business results
  • Based on corporate strategy and in collaboration with the General Managers decides on a “go-to” market strategy with focus on market segments and product offering, based on business analytics and market intelligence
  • Working with the European Marketing team to translate corporate marketing strategy into tactical plans to win business and accelerate growth in the regions aligned with the Business Segment growth Market and Product strategies
  • Works to connect field marketing to global marketing by assisting in win/loss information, competitive intelligence, and customer segmentation.
  • Implements sales strategies by driving Key projects and strategic initiatives of the region
  • Coordinates and maintains regular EMEA Sales Business Reviews.
  • Designs, implements and measures application support strategy linked to the demands in the different market segments by leading the Europe demo lab teams, within Waters quality framework
  • Works with the Lead Qualification team to optimize conversion rates and velocity of leads
  • Is a strong global collaborator, both external and internal, who uses their network to accelerate execution
  • Has the ability to drive and implement organisational change effectively
  • Collaborates with the Demand Generation team to ensure implementation of EMEA commercial strategy
  • Works closely with VP and GMs of EMEA to create Annual Operating Plan
  • Is an outside – in leader and thinker that understand trends and market dynamics.

QualificationsEducation:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (MA/MS/MBA or other advanced degree preferred) or a strong Field Marketing and Leadership experience/background.

Experience:

  • Senior leadership background, with laser focus on execution and bringing projects to completion
  • In-depth international experience in a variety of functional areas including marketing, sales management and sales strategy and deployment and leverage of analytics and tools to drive new commercial business opportunities
  • Significant track record of successfully leading an international team, coaching direct reports and driving projects to completion
  • Knowledge of various marketing and sales strategies, as well as broad base business and financial acumen
  • Strong scientific knowledge and technical marketing background

  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and to manage multiple non-connected projects and prioritize time/activities
  • Ability to develop new marketing strategies, build business cases, gain internal/external support, and drive implementation through the team
  • Has a strong customer focus and capability to balance stakeholders
  • Ability to develop new sales and marketing strategies, build business cases, gain internal/external support, and drive implementation and execution
  • Drives vision and purpose, with a global, strategic, analytical and innovative mindset

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, & especially, PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Other requirements:

  • The ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 30%)
