Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Sr. Emerging Technologies Systems Analyst who will join the Technology/ITS Department of the U.S. Greater West Region’s Traffic/Technology and ITS Division. The position will lead and support emerging technology projects being conducted in a variety of U.S. states. Project work could include systems engineering and data analytics/programming as part of alternative transportation concepts, cooperative automated transportation programs, automated/connected vehicles, and a variety of emerging technology solutions across all modes of transportation.
As the Sr. Emerging Technologies Systems Analyst, job functions could include:

Providing project support on topics including emerging transportation technologies, such as connected vehicles and automated vehicles; ITS systems engineering, data management and analysis, and GIS applications, tolling technologies and RUC.

Serve as Task Leader on projects, managing and directing the work of junior staff on the task, and reporting progress to the Project Manager and Client.

Managing, analyzing, and visualizing data for use in transportation and emerging technology systems and applications, researching the current state-of-the-practice, as well as emerging and innovative practices, for various emerging transportation topics.

Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out systems engineering and/or data analytics or software tasks.

Exercise judgment in developing details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of systems engineering alternatives.

Prepare data programming or engineering related calculations and develop visual aids for use in documents or presentations

Work on a wide range of projects and tasks and assist data analysis/visualization, and report development.

Assist in agency coordination and emerging technology / ITS systems engineering, planning and design projects. Projects may involve advanced transportation technologies, connected and automated vehicle deployments, smart mobility, communications, ITS devices, and other innovative solutions.

Prepare technical reports, provide project meeting support, and perform other duties as required.

Development of custom digital tools (conceptual, front end, and/or backend)

Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team members.

Develop Presentations to internal and external customers.

Efficiently manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Good communication skills and team spirit.

Work in a collaborative fast paced team environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s college degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related field with an emphasis in digital solutions development and implementation, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Moderate proficiency in Python or R programming languages

Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing
-
Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to prioritize and meet task deadlines

Adaptable and flexible to various projects

Thinks creatively and proactively, and uses technology and software solutions to make operations more efficient

Microsoft Software (Excel, Access, SharePoint, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)

Additional Information

Offered rate of compensation (Arizona locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $85,000 – $149,000/yr.
