Staff Botanist

Padre Associates is an environmental consulting firm based out of Ventura, California with additional offices in Bakersfield, Sacramento, and San Luis Obispo (SLO).

Padre Associates currently has an opening in our Sacramento office for a staff botanist.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include supporting botanical field surveys, aquatic resource delineations, data interpretation, and preparing associated survey reports. Seasonal tasks include construction monitoring for permit compliance.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate should:

• Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the biological sciences;
• Experience with California native vegetation, have 2-5 years of experience;
• Be highly motivated and enthusiastic;
• Have strong analytical, writing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; and
• Interested in pursuing professional growth in a growing midsized consulting firm.

Candidates must be willing to work in both an office and in the field.  Some extended overnight field assignments are likely.

Compensation

• Ranges from $25 to $34/hour, depending on experience.
