Working under the supervision of Dr. Felix Feng in the Department of Radiation Oncology, the Androgen Receptor (AR) Biology SRA II will perform a wide variety of standard laboratory experimental procedures requiring ingenuity, resourcefulness, and adaptability to special and changing needs of highly specialized laboratory and/or field experimental procedures. The Feng Lab is comprised of exceptional biologists and computational scientists, working together to advance our understanding of cancer biology with the aim of improving patient outcomes. We focus on identifying molecular drivers of cancer pathogenesis and understanding the mechanisms that contribute to disease progression and metastasis, the discovery of prognostic and predictive biomarkers to advance precision cancer medicine, and novel therapeutic strategies to fight cancer and benefit patient care.
The SRA II, working with one or more postdoctoral fellows and/or graduate students in the lab, will focus on studies aimed at understanding basic biology underlying prostate cancer, with a strong focus on the role of AR in the development of treatment resistance. The candidate may also modify, vary or adapt standard procedures to meet the needs of research projects, or improve tests that are unsatisfactory, and after studying available literature, analyze and alter conditions under which determinations are made.
The SRA will be expected to allocate time towards performing literature reviews, attending lab and journal club meetings, and preparing summaries of experiments to present during these meetings. They will also be expected to have the ability to commit to a position for a minimum of two years. The findings will have direct translational impact on current and future research projects.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
