About the team
Human Resources is the professional team responsible for leading the organisation in the creation and implementation of the Strategic People and Culture Plan to enable the Vision, Values and Strategic Plan for the University of Western Australia. Human Resources as a customer-centric service function is responsible for providing high quality, responsive people management services and employee services. The area is responsible for developing and implementing workplace strategies, programs and initiatives that enable and drive organisational performance and capability development.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Staff Resources Officer, you will provide accurate, high quality transactional work, including issuing contracts, entering payroll data, and providing employment related policy information to the University community.
About you
This position is an entry level HR role. You will be suitable if you enjoy problem solving, value accuracy, enjoy a fast-paced, varied workday and can communicate policy and procedures with clarity and conviction. On the job training is provided.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
- Substantial relevant administrative experience at an appropriate level, preferably in a HR transactional role
- Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email
- Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change and be flexible
- Ability to ensure accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service
- Knowledge of human resource payroll system is desirable
Note: Provision of a Current National Police Clearance will be required for the successful applicant.
