Job Description:As a Standardisation Engineer you will create documentation and support the standardisation of the company’s Aftermarket Service documentation. Key to this role will be your ability to liaise with technical support staff and subject matter experts to collate relevant information required to draft documentation for service and repair of equipment. You will develop a thorough understanding of our internal and external customers and the documentation required by meeting with colleagues and working with managers to discuss technical problems with a view to revising, editing, or updating instructions and technical information in a comprehensive manner which allows efficient delivery of our aftermarket service.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Script and compile service, maintenance, repair, inspection, overhaul, and NDE documentation for NOV Rig equipment, specifically to support the needs of NOV Aftermarket business lines
- Read and interpret available engineering drawings and manuals for inclusion within new or revised documentation
- Liaise with other technical support staff / Engineering Departments to understand all necessary aspects required for inclusion in documentation, ensuring efficiency within the documentation creation process
- Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
- Inspect equipment documentation for conformance with legislative, industry and NOV standards
- Highlight any problematic issues / areas of conflict in documentation
- Analyze developments for specific equipment to determine any need for revisions in previously published material or for development of new material
- Where possible, use continuous improvement techniques to streamline current processes
- Update Department Supervisor on progress and requirements generated through the documentation request system
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures
- Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager

Qualifications:
- Qualification in an Engineering related discipline or equivalent experience (Essential)
- Working with controlled technical documentation (Essential)
- Mechanical or Electrical working and educational background (Desirable)
Experience:
- Experience working within an engineering or equivalent environment (Essential)
- Previous experience and/or ability to edit drawings using AutoCAD (Essential)
- Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings/schematics (Essential)
- Background knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics (Essential)
- Mechanical, functional, or technical experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry (Desirable)
- Background knowledge of installation, commissioning, overhaul, fault finding and repair of heavy machinery (Desirable)
Skills, training, or special knowledge:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral (Essential)
- Computer literacy (including good command of the Microsoft Office Suite) (Essential)
- Ability to interpret industry standards and ensure released documents are in accordance with relevant standards (Essential)
- 3D Modelling literacy and experience working with drawing packages such as Solidworks, Creo / Pro-E, or Inventor (Essential)
- Working with projects and within teams (Desirable)
- Document Control and an understanding of Document Management Systems (DMS) (Desirable)
