Duty Station– Olympia, Washington – Thurston County
Hybrid/Telework– While this position offers a hybrid work arrangement, the successful candidate must be available to report to the Olympia, WA headquarters as needed (at least three (3) days per week)

This is an opportunity to support statewide outreach efforts by coordinating staff participation, consultation for sports shows, community events, and other public engagement initiatives.
This position collaborates closely with program and regional teams, manages outreach materials, supports agency outreach tracking and evaluation and advises staff on effective, inclusive engagement strategies.

Working Conditions:
Work Setting, including hazards: Fast-paced, deadline-oriented job with the majority of work within an office environment. Some outdoors activity which may include exposure to inclement weather and walking and standing outdoors on uneven surfaces. May require bending and lifting (up to 30 pounds) and transporting, setting up, and breaking down tables, chairs, and pop-up tents. Regular travel to WDFW warehouse for materials inventory which will include using a 4ft ladder. Office hazards include working under fluorescent light, repetitively entering data into computer, looking at computer monitor for long periods of time, sitting or standing for long periods of time.
Schedule: Typically, Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Some weekend and evening work is required. Telework options may be available up to two (2) days per week.
Travel Requirements: Occasional in and out of state travel is required, occasional overnight travel may be required
Customer Interactions: Frequent interactions with agency staff and the public.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, public administration, natural resources, education, or related field.
And
Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in community outreach, project or event management, communications, or closely related field.
Please Note: Closely related qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-by-year basis.
In addition, the following experience is required:

Successful completion of agency training and/or certification per supervisory direction, position need, and training availability.
