Job Description:STATION ENGINEER – EDINBURGH AIRPORTAircraft Engineering Services (AES Ltd) are inviting applications for a Station Engineer to be based at Edinburgh Airport (EDI) on a Monday-Friday rotation, working in cooperation with our client airline Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline.With 600 aircraft for Summer 2024, including the introduction of the Boeing 737-8200 “Gamechanger” and a growing Ryanair UK Fleet of 737-800, Ryanair offer exceptional career opportunities and progression within the industry.WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:The successful Station Engineer will be a self-motivated individual with existing line maintenance experience, who is able to balance the needs of the task, team and individual and demonstrate a flexible working attitude in a fast-changing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a Licensed Engineer or existing Station Engineer looking to progress their career, learn new skills and join the Management Team.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESReporting directly to the UK General Manager and Technical Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and management of Ryanair’s Engineering Line Stations at Edinburgh Airport (EDI), Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) and Newcastle International Airport (NCL). Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Management of Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents/AOG’s and Third-Party Liaison.
  • Manpower planning, recruitment, retention and staff performance management.
  • Ensuring appropriate spares, equipment and tooling are available at each location.
  • Budgeting, invoicing and negotiation/management of contracts with external suppliers/companies.
  • Conducting regular base visits, ensuring staff welfare and regulatory (UK CAA and EASA) compliance.
  • Supervision and mentoring of Engineers, Aircraft Mechanics and Trainees.
  • Investigating Maintenance Delays, Engineering Safety Reports and Non-Compliances, implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.

Requirements:

  • Aircraft Line Maintenance experience (Essential).
  • EASA or UK CAA* Part-66 B1/B2 License holder & Recency (Essential):
  • Boeing 737-NG Type Endorsement (Desirable – Type Courses Available).
  • Boeing 737-Max Type Endorsement (Desirable – Type Courses Available).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (Essential).
  • Excellent time management, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and effectively communicate progress to Maintenance Control and Senior Management.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership experience, capable of remotely managing diverse teams.
  • Good IT Literacy (Essential), with AMOS Experience (Desirable).
