Org. Setting and Reporting
The post is located in the Office of the Secretary (OS), Secretariat of the International Narcotics Control Board (SINCB), Division of Treaty Affairs (DTA), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in Vienna, Austria. The incumbent will report to the manager of the INCB Global Rapid Interdiction of Dangerous Substances (GRIDS) Programme global OPIOIDS Project (Operational Partnerships to Interdict Opioids’ Illicit Distribution and Sales). The Secretariat of INCB is an administrative entity of UNODC reporting directly to the Board on substantive matters.
Responsibilities
Within assigned authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following specific duties:

• Assist in information collection, compilation and dissemination via the Project ION Incident Communication System (IONICS) secure communication platform, GRIDS Intelligence targeting systems and related proprietary INCB systems.
• Assemble original statistical material; adjust reported information from different sources and communicate data into IONICS.
• Draft routine correspondence to respond to IONICS users and focal points enquiries in respect to relevant administrative matters.
• Assist in developing and provide guidance, and basic seminars and training on the appropriate use of IONICS and related systems to staff, users and focal points.
• Participate in the review and compilation of background materials, e.g., IONICS guidance materials, technical guides, system presentation and development materials.
• Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
• Generate graphs, pivot tables, spreadsheet formulas and statistical maps to facilitate further review and analysis of data by users or for reports and official publications.
• Assist in the evaluation and examination of data sets for accuracy, clarity and validity with strong attention to detail.
• Perform other administrative duties and coordinate extensively with service units (e.g. regarding travel; physical space planning; office technology needs including IT and organizing and coordinating seminars, conferences and translations).
• Update statistical series in established formats. Apply new data and derived statistics, enter data on survey reports, and provide information for publication.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of IONICS and other relevant computerized platforms.
• Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
• Assist in liaising with United Nations system organizations, UNOV/ITS, IONICS users, and INCB focal points, to obtain necessary statistical and other relevant information.
• Monitor and maintain IONICS users and related focal points contact information and resolve user access issues.
• Prepare data sets upon request; respond to queries/requests and maintain/update IONICS-related web pages.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Work Experience
A minimum of five years of work experience in statistics, accounting, finance, business administration or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to 3 for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365/ Suite including PowerBI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Skype is required.

Experience handling sensitive regulatory or law enforcement information is required.

Experience delivering IT system training to diverse audiences is desirable.

Experience with relevant specialized software (Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, Slack, Jira or related applications) is desirable.

Experience in coordinating with information technology experts on development of systems and user interfaces is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable.
