About the assignment
We’re looking for a STEM Exhibit Designer Mentor who can volunteer remotely in South Africa for 6 months. Join the Australian Volunteers Program to contribute to development in Africa.
About the Partner Organisation:
Sci-Enza aims to promote greater understanding and awareness of science and technology among South Africans and to foster public engagement with science. They are committed to creating a learning environment where science and imagination unite. This is achieved through interactive exhibits, relevant programs and memorable experiences with science. Sci-Enza strives to be a role model for new and upcoming science centres in South Africa and Africa and to be internationally recognised as a science centre that offers quality science programs and hands-on science experiences. They do this by offering interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) experiences, memorable exhibitions, engaging programs, hands-on workshops and therefore contribute to developing South Africa as a more scientifically literate nation.
About the Position:
- You’ll be supporting the team to be creative problem solvers and play a critical role in crafting fun, memorable, human-centred experiences for the community.
- You’ll have a passion for designing experiential exhibits and have an in-depth knowledge and experience of exhibit design principles.
- You’ll have the opportunity to support the continued interest in the STEM field for the people of South Africa.
- Allowance: $79.

Special requirements
- The Partner Organisation’s preference for this role is part-time ( less than 25h per week)
- Federal Police Check must be completed during application
- First Aid Certificate is required
- Video response interview must be completed as part of this application
