Main ResponsibilitiesStores OperativeAn opportunity to join an experienced, versatile team, delivering first-class services our aviation contract here at Manchester Airport.Position OverviewWorking primarily in a storeroom environment, the post holder will be a versatile customer focused Stores operative, with the drive to provide a first-class service to the airport. Training can be provided, where appropriate.

  • Maintain stock levels and good housekeeping for general stores and ensure compliance checks are completed correctly and accurately in Terminal sluice/store rooms.
  • Ensure deliveries are unloaded from vehicles safely and effectively, goods are unpacked, reviewed against invoices for discrepancies, stock replenished, and records updated.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders including Terminal managers, Duty Managers staff and client stakeholders.
  • Promote a safe working culture. Understand and comply with Health and Safety policy and procedures.
  • Undertake any additional tasks as determined by the Line Manager, including leading on change to meet the emerging needs of the business.

In addition, the individual will be versatile, intuitive, and professional with good judgement and absolute integrity. Proactive and persuasive when required and responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated, the incumbent will be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of Mitie company values. In addition, the following is needed:

  • Proven experience of working in a warehouse/store’s environment preferrable.
  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Proven track record of delivering quality with customer-facing service and experience.
  • Ability to adapt to short notice changes to requirements and deadlines.
  • Positivity towards continual improvements and adaptable to change management.
  • Good standard of education, preferably key skills in English and Mathematics.
  • Holds a Full UK Driving Licence (mandatory).

Additional InformationDBS Standard level required. To meet aviation security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years for Security Clearance.Proof of right to work in UK essential.The Contract operates a 37.5 hour working week Mon-Fri.Required to wear approved company work wear.About the companyMitie is a business of 77,500 colleagues making us the UK’s leading facilities management company.
