The Role

Following a recent internal promotion within our Human Resources team, we are seeking an experienced Strategic HR Business Partner to join our successful team. We are on an ambitious journey, and you could help us build on our significant achievements over the past 12 months. Our Town House Strategy is transforming our students’ education by embedding the future skills sought after by business and the professions across our curriculum and the People Plan is integral to achieving our vision. 

As a key member of HR you will be part of an inclusive, dynamic and vibrant team, committed to evolving and supporting strategic people requirements of our University in line with our values, Inclusion, Innovation, Ambitious and Enterprising. You will provide a consultative HR service to your assigned Faculty/Directorate and support their strategic people priorities, embedding key people initiatives.  Working in conjunction with members of the HR Leadership Team, and in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team, you will align the University’s Town House Strategy through our People Plan using an evidence- based approach to workforce planning.  

The role will play a vital part in the implementation of all University strategies and interrelated people initiatives. You will need clear business and academic focus to provide expert advice to stakeholders at multiple senior levels on their people matters. You will also provide a solution focused HR service to customers and implement change effectively, ensuring we have engagement strategies and data led decision making. 

The Person

The ideal candidate will use their consulting skills to look at system wide issues that are impacting the delivery of the university’s aims, both locally and strategically. At the same time, the senior management team regularly enlist HR expertise for complex change programmes which range from implementation of new business processes to large scale strategic initiatives to enhance services to students.

The HR function provides the strategy and infrastructure to enable Kingston University to achieve its core purpose. The successful candidate will be joining an experienced and talented team of HR professionals who work in partnership with academic and professional services to achieve the overall aims for the University.

We have a modern agile working space shared with other professional services staff. We anticipate the need to be on campus around three days per week. Our campus is buzzing with students and staff, and our award-winning Town House building means this is an inspiring and inviting place to work.

This is a full-time (37 hours per week) permanent position, with a salary of up to £62,087 per annum (dependent on experience).

You will be based at our Penrhyn Road campus but will be required to be flexible and work across all of our campuses, as required.
