Overview
The International Portfolio is responsible for leading the University’s international growth, engagement and the establishment of new international education and commercial enterprises.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the International Office team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive person to join our newly formed Global Business Development and Governance Team. Reporting to the Manager, Global Business Development and Governance, the position of Strategic Officer will work closely with teams across the portfolio coordinating operational processes, project plans and elements of onshore and offshore activities including new global business development opportunities and contract process management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake research and analysis of issues and trends to inform decision making and contribute to the development of operational and project plans;
- Coordinate and report on assigned projects and activities to provide advice on the progress against plans, goals and expectations;
- Draft reports, business cases and briefing notes to provide insights and enable informed decision-making aligned with ECU’s strategic priorities;
- Preparation of agreements, contract management plans, tenders and documents as required and/or directed;
- Supporting Quality Assurance through the development, implementation and documentation of quality processes and activities as required and/or directed;
- Support onshore and offshore events as assigned.
Key Criteria
The successful applicant will have:
- Tertiary qualification with relevant experience or an equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.
- Demonstrated experience in providing high-level administrative services and support services in a large organisation.
- Good communication skills and the ability to provide good customer service to achieve quality outcomes for internal and external customers.
- Good analytical skills and the ability to make recommendations based on your findings.
- Ability to organise and present information, views and concepts in a concise, understandable and interesting format for a variety of audiences.
Previous experience in the Higher Education sector, and/or project management, whilst not essential, will be well regarded.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time, ongoing position attracts a remuneration of $88,973 to $95,993 p.a. including 17% University superannuation contribution.
