Strategic Partnership Director

The Strategic Partnership Director will work closely with organizational leadership, and will be responsible for leading across EGA’s immediate, next and long term support of membership. The Director is essential to the successful implementation of our equity experimentation. The Strategic Partnership Director has overall responsibility for managing relationships with our members in support of innovation of programs and projects. The Director manages managers, and cross-trains junior staff in content, operations, relationship stewardship. The Director is a nimble mentor on process, culture and the implementation of racial equity in grantmaking as a strategy for impact. The Strategic Partnership Director develops and implements plans and objectives with functional strategies for their sub function and develops budgets, policies, or procedures to support the Association’s infrastructure.

The Strategic Partnership Director manages EGA’s membership of 200+ foundations and giving programs, to build a network of peers dedicated to transformative learning, mutual accountability, and courageous action. The Strategic Partnership Director manages experiments and priority projects, and leads facilitation of funder-to-funder collaboration to help us achieve our strategic framework while bringing in our Racial Equity POV to all decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Membership Services:

  • Alongside EGA’s CEO, develop and follow-through on annual goals and strategy for membership recruitment. This includes attracting a wide range of philanthropic organizations, including those who do not define themselves as environmentally focused, to take action on the developmental path towards greater equity and justice.
  • Oversight and collaboration with the Membership Manager to accomplish impactful member outreach and track and resolve communications, resource and relational gaps.

Member Retention:

  • Connect and build relationships with and among EGA members; respond to daily inquiries from members related to engagement opportunities
  • Support EGA’s diverse membership, developing evaluation metrics and executing strategies for effective engagement in line with mission and our strategic
  • Create opportunities for effective and proactive Board engagement with all

Board Engagement:

  • Serve as staff support to the CEO on matters of Membership Development, guiding related annual work plans and leading calls as necessary.

Related administrative and fiscal responsibilities include:

  • Manage fundraising strategy and grant administration for the Executive Grantmaker Fellowship and other special membership programs and
  • Work with Controller to maintain organized revenue documentation and
  • Work with EGA leadership to set and follow annual goals relevant to organizational grant strategy.

Program Management and Partnerships:

  • Direct the implementation of the Executive Grantmaker Fellowship and other special initiatives and interventions, including managing a team of consultants, overseeing project budget, and facilitating internal processes to execute program
  • Work alongside staff to develop and produce high level briefings and events, including plenaries and keynotes.
  • Facilitate member engagement efforts, including management of programming/fundraising related to addressing racial equity and systemic injustice
  • Work closely with the CEO on constituency building efforts including outreach and relationship to other affinity groups, including traveling to and networking at other affinity conferences/events.
  • Work closely with the CEO to support EGA’s advance of networks to meet the interconnected challenge of Global North accountability and Global South leadership through international partnerships and programs.

Must Have Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate should have the following experience and qualifications:

  • 5-7 Years of experience in a Director role or with equivalent skills, practice or
  • Demonstrated staff management experience with the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, provide coaching, project management, and clear accountability metrics to move programs forward.
  • Superior writing and communications
  • Experience advocating and promoting effective and equitable
  • Lived and professionally aligned with EGA’s values and
  • Above average project management, analytical
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of environmental
  • Successful experience developing and implementing new programs and
  • Experience developing, growing, and monitoring project
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement collaborative
  • Proven experience as a bridge builder capable of galvanizing stakeholders around common goals.

Nice to Have Qualifications and Experience

  • Masters or Graduate Level Education

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $95,000 – $105,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. There is an excellent benefits package including generous medical, dental, prescription and vision plans; paid time off; a retirement plan and partial tuition reimbursement.
