- Band 6 – $94,850.86 – $103,260.69 + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full time 38 hours per week only)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Strategic Transport Unit in the City Sustainability & Strategy Group. The City of Yarra has a proud history of supporting and creating the right conditions for sustainable transport. To achieve this, Council has set ambitious targets to deliver a wide range of infrastructure, programs and other projects to achieve ambitious objectives and provide clear internal and community wide leadership and direction.
This role will have responsibility for a range of transport projects, including policy and report writing. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who will:
- Manage the initial stage of our exciting New Deal for Walking programme to drive active travel behaviour change and infrastructure improvements around Yarra.
- Assist with statutory planning referrals, write Council documents and submissions, provide internal transport advice, and independently manage internal and external enquiries as needed.
- Be passionate about sustainable transport and achieving better outcomes for people travelling in Yarra.
- Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with people and organisations across the municipality to achieve Yarra’s sustainable transport goals, as set out in the Yarra Transport Strategy 2022-32 and Transport Action Plan 2024-34.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Transport planning is a fast-paced discipline with local government at the forefront of action. We are seeking a passionate candidate who has an understanding of transport planning and leading and supporting projects within a complex organisation with many stakeholders.
