Do you want to make a real difference for local wildlife? If you are passionate about building
a career in ecology and conservation management then this is the job for you. The Strategic
Wildlife Corridors project is a pioneering scheme to protect and enhance a series of seven
wildlife corridors that run from the coast up to the South Downs. They provide a home and a
vital connection for wildlife, but they can be made even better. You will be working with
landowners, volunteers and contactors to deliver a wide variety of on-the-ground enhancements,
joining up and improving streams, hedges, ditches and woodlands. Working in a small friendly
team and based in the historic cathedral city of Chichester, this role is a job share post,
working alongside an existing part time postholder.

You’ll have experience of delivering practical conservation projects and a good working
knowledge of ecology and habitat management. You will be confident in dealing with landowners
and community groups, well organised and able to work evenings and on weekends if required. The
post holder will be an enthusiastic individual who demonstrates a high level of commitment to
conserving and improving the rich and diverse habitats of this very special area.

This post is one part of a job share. You will be working alongside another officer who is
working 22 hours a week on the project. Of the 7 corridors you will lead on 3 of them.

For more information about the post please contact Tom Day on [email protected] or 01243534854.
