Home-based in any country where World Vision International is registered to operate preferably Asia Pacific or proximity. Flexible work arrangements.

The purpose of role:

The Strategy Analyst to provide support in the area of strategy management across World Vision offices in South Asia and Pacific. This is to ensure alignment to the Our Promise strategy, One Impact One Story (OIOS), and other strategic initiatives and reporting requirements. The position will support the Regional Strategy Director in Filed Office (FO) strategy development, business planning and organizational monitoring, and capacity development for strategy management.

Job Description:

Leadership support (10%)

  • Lead monthly meetings with Regional Strategy Network (FO strategy points) to determine key strategy issues and ensure they are supported in rollout of initiatives such as OIOS
  • Attend online FO SST meetings with the Strategy Director

Strategy & Planning (60%)

  • Support the Strategy Director in preparing the FO strategy development process including context/landscape analysis, SWOT analysis, defining objectives, and writing narratives.
  • Gather data and information required to complete Partnership Strategy Scorecard
  • Support regional Senior Leadership Team through monitoring and reporting on progress of SAP plan-on-a-page (SAPPOP)
  • Support Director in FO annual business planning process (Country Strategy Implementation Plan – CSIP), particularly in identifying targets for the FY.
  • Gather and consolidate impact data for the quarterly WVI Board report, focusing on high-end impact indicators.
  • Assist in the rollout of OIOS, primary through support during monthly strategy point meetings
  • Attend 1-2 strategy workshops/year and assist facilitation.

Technical Support and Quality Assurance (20%)

  • Conduct such research as required to provide background and evidence for the FO national strategy development process. Conduct other research that may be required to support the SAP Regional Strategy Department function.
  • Seek ways to contribute to the development of global framework, processes, tools, procedures and guidelines relating to Strategy Management and provide leadership in contextualizing and mainstreaming these within the region.
  • Seek ways to ensure continuous improvement on the quality of processes and context of strategy management across the region.

Internal Collaboration and External Relations (10%)

  • Act as a strategic link and focal point for strategy network.
  • Participate and actively contribute to partnership forums, working groups, Strategy Support Team and networks related to Strategy management as deemed necessary by regional leadership.
  • Work with other members of the South Asia and Pacific team to ensure alignment within the wider ministry of World Vision in the region.
  • Contribute to and lead key RO events (e.g., DoP, Devotions, etc)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in related discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in working with relief and development organisation.
  • Experience leading FO/RO strategic initiatives
  • Experience working with multi-cultural team
  • Experience in facilitation virtual networks and groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment working virtually
  • Excellent presentation, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Understanding on strategy formulation, balance scorecard, business planning, financial modeling
  • Strong negotiation, decision making and problem solving skills
  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
