Join a well-established structural engineering consultancy renowned for practical, client-focused solutions across refurbishment, new build and specialist structural elements (including structural glass). You’ll work within a collaborative design team, contributing to technically challenging projects and supporting both permanent and temporary works design.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed designs for building structures in reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and timber.Design and detail structural steel connections and prepare associated sketches and CAD drawings.Contribute to temporary works schemes, from piling platforms and propping to complex bespoke support systems.Conduct site inspections and surveys, logging observations for integration into design revisions.Produce clear technical letters, reports and calculation notes for clients and regulators.Liaise with architects, contractors and project managers to ensure design intent is maintained through construction.Mentor and assist junior colleagues as your technical expertise grows.Who You AreConsultancy Experience: Proven track record delivering detailed structural designs in an engineering consultancy, preferably on London-based projects.Technical Competence: Familiar with UK Building Regulations and design software; confident tackling a range of materials and construction methods.Temporary Works Awareness: Understanding of temporary works principles and keen to develop more advanced schemes under senior guidance.Professional Drive: Ambitious and committed to pursuing IStructE chartership, seeking a firm that provides structured support and dedicated examiners.Effective Communicator: Skilled at presenting technical information clearly in reports and discussions with multi-disciplinary teams.Stable Career Path: Demonstrated commitment to past employers and steady progression of responsibilities.What’s In It for YouHands-on involvement in high-profile refurbishment and new build projects across commercial and residential sectors.Access to in-house training, seminars and direct mentorship from Chartered Engineers and IStructE examiners.A supportive environment dedicated to your professional development and chartership success.Central London office with excellent transport links and opportunities for wider industry networking.
