Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary | Reporting directly to the Sociology Department’s Administrative Assistant, the Student Admin Assistant provides operational support in administrative tasks and office operations to the Sociology Department. The assistant helps with expense reporting, creating promotional materials, coordinating projects and events, responding to inquiries with quality interpersonal skills, maintaining department records, communicating with the student body, updating Sociology webpages, and attending events with departmental guests and prospective students. The assistant also supports Wilkinson College’s Peer Advising program, providing Sociology department students with valuable information regarding program evaluations, graduation requirements, and class details. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated student to gain valuable administrative experience while contributing to the smooth functioning of the department. The selected candidate may begin working as early as June 3rd, 2024, but no later than August 30th, 2024. The position runs through the end of the 2024/25 academic year. Federal work-study is not required for this position, but having an available FWS reward may allow you to work additional hours. |
