  • $105,000 – $120,000 inclusive of Super (pro rata)

About the role

As a member of The Benevolent Society’s Learning and Capability team, you will deliver, improve, manage and measure student and new graduate programs for The Benevolent Society. The role will be responsible for building and implementing strong programs that set The Benevolent Society apart from its competitors in how it supports and develops those new to the professional streams in which they work. The program works in accordance with The Benevolent Professional Governance Framework to ensure the services and support we provide to our clients and each other are person centred, connected, effective, and safe.

Duties

  • Use best practice adult learning models to develop, implement and continuously improve high quality and innovative student and new graduate induction and development programs for the organisation across all operational streams and activities, as well as roles within National Office.
  • Deliver a program of co-ordinated activities with clear collaboration and accountabilities between Directors, Managers, Team Leaders, Practice Quality team and the HR team including regular reporting of program metrics to the TBS Executive team.
  • Develop and implement a program of learning to enable students and new graduates to embed tertiary learning or to transition to the professional work environment. Provide tools and coaching for staff to effectively supervise and mentor students and new graduates in line with the program objectives.
  • Be the mediator in any student placement issues or concerns to support resolution or facilitate termination in consultation with the education institution.
  • Work with key stakeholders to advocate for and build best practice student and new graduate opportunities and build pathways that meet business needs whilst engaging and attracting high quality external talent.
  • Develop working relationships with identified universities and TAFEs to manage contracts and agreements, establish agreed upon student recruitment processes, advertise TBS placement opportunities and potential opportunities for partnership.
  • Partner with the HR and Brand, Marketing and Communications teams to develop marketing material for the Student and New Graduate programs.
  • Work with educational institutions to build relationships, and influence educational content to ensure it remains relevant to operational implementation at The Benevolent Society.

Skills and experience

We want you to be successful in your new role! This means you’ll have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, for example adult education with an understanding of the needs of clients within the social services sector, or a degree in a field of clinical or social services practice with experience in training/coaching or leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with students and new graduates.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and practitioners in the business to deliver effective program outcomes.
  • Experience in evaluating success of programs.
  • A sense of creativity and innovation to identify and develop solutions that others may not have considered or are not expected.

Desirable experience/qualifications:

  • Implemented multi-disciplinary new graduate and student programs in an organisation.
  • Experience in a community service or not for profit organisation would be an advantage.
  • Post graduate qualifications in adult learning, business or similar.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or registration as a clinician in providing care or services to vulnerable people
