Information Technology

The Student Assistant will support the Department of Information Technology as a Research Assistant on All Campuses beginning Spring 2024. 

The Research Assistant will engage in comprehensive literature analysis, meticulously examining and summarizing academic journal papers.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

• Conduct extensive data exploration
• Categorize data types, and document irregularities encountered in different graph datasets from open data sources (e.g., Kaggle, GitHub)
• Visualize datasets using the Python language
• Discover Python GNN examples and analyze their structures
• Coding assignments related to other graph networks or neural networks

Shift Specifics

• Up to 10  hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability

Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Education

• Students in Information Technology or Computer Science pursuing a master’s degree

Preferred Experience

• Individuals with prior experience working with Python or those interested in Python program development and machine learning

$15.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
