  • Open to: Current staff members of QUT who have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the fixed-term appointment. Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Student Engagement Officer to join HiQ, Student Services and Wellbeing, Administrative Division.

The Student Engagement Officer will provide assistance across student engagement programs including financial, and operational management of the Student Grants and Development Office (SGDO), organising events and providing administrative and logistical support for student engagement initiatives. The incumbent will work closely with other members of the Service Improvement and Student Engagement team liaising with students, staff, faculties and community organisations to deliver a range of student engagement initiatives.

They provide leadership and development opportunities for students alongside the formal curriculum, to deepen student engagement, and enhance the overall QUT student experience..

What you need to succeed

  • Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a degree in a relevant area.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the financial management and accountability of small organisations or projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and event management with the ability to complete tasks within established timeframes and budgets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, preferably in a student environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups among staff, students and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed planning and organising skills with demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work activities to meet competing deadlines and to achieve positive work outcomes in a client focused environment.
  • Well-developed written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write materials for target audiences within designated timeframes.
