About the College of Arts and Sciences Student Services and Admissions Office

The Arts & Sciences Student Services and Admissions Office is a large and dynamic unit dedicated to delivering excellent service to students, faculty, and staff. The office staff support a one-stop student services model for the college’s 4,700 undergraduate students from time of admission to graduation. Our staff help guide each student on their path to success, however they define it, building a foundation for lifelong growth, opportunity, and discovery.

Cornell enrollment representatives across its administrative offices and within its colleges, schools, and units share a mission to partner with students, faculty, staff, and alumni, supporting strategic enrollment goals defined by the university so that any person can find instruction in any study. Enrollment services are carried out through a matrixed organizational system in which staff in Division of Enrollment offices regularly collaborate with colleges, schools, and units, establishing partnerships and resource for all staff serving enrollment functions.

The Opportunity

The Student Services Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting various special programs including Cornell in Washington, the CAPS-Beijing Program, the International Exchange Program, as well as study abroad initiatives within the office. Additionally, the Student Services Coordinator is responsible for room scheduling using the university’s 25Live system, assisting with the Academic Records Committee (ARC), maintaining and updating student records, and providing support for the Arts & Sciences First-Year Advising Seminars. This role also involves coordinating front desk operations to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery to students, staff, and faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for special programs and study abroad initiatives.
  • Coordinate room scheduling activities using the university’s 25Live system.
  • Assist with Academic Records Committee (ARC) tasks.
  • Provide scheduling support for First-Year Advising Seminars.
  • Coordinate front desk operations, including managing student worker assignments.
  • Collaborate with admissions, advising, and registrar/operations colleagues.
  • Serve as a resource to department undergraduate coordinators.
  • Partner with university offices such as the Office of Global Learning, Bursar, Financial Aid, and the Office of the University Registrar.

This is a full-time (39 hours/week) endowed position that is based in Ithaca, NY and fully on-site. Typical work hours are 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.

  • Hold an Associate’s degree and 2 to 4 years’ experience or equivalent combination of both education and experience.
  • Be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have strong attention to detail and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Have experience in or ability to quickly learn scheduling tools and student information systems.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Salesforce, degree audit, and the 25Live scheduling tool. Knowledge of Cornell, and experience working in an academic unit.
