Are you a keen and experienced researcher with a background in a quantitative social science subject? Are you passionate about supporting and measuring student success?
As Student Success Research and Evaluation Lead, you will be responsible for leading on the evaluation of learning support interventions to improve student engagement and success at Birkbeck and undertaking the evaluation of the impact of Birkbeck’s Student Engagement and Success Programme.
This is an excellent opportunity to design and develop an evaluation framework for assessing the impact of interventions on students’ engagement, completion, continuation and attainment. Your work will inform the development of the College’s student engagement tracking system and our approach to learner analytics.
We are seeking a candidate with extensive research skills to include quantitative research methods and multivariate analysis. You will have a PhD in a quantitative social science subject, (completed or close to completion) or equivalent post-graduate research experience.
With a strong enthusiasm for supporting learning in higher education, you will have exceptional organisational skills and proven experience of delivering work on time and to a high quality.
The successful candidate will benefit from joining Birkbeck’s Education Directorate which has been established recently to support the implementation of the College’s strategic objectives for education and student experience.
Remuneration
£49,745 rising to £58,554 per annum, Full-time, 35 hours per week. Part-time welcomed at 0.8 FTE (28 hours per week, pro rata £39,796 rising to £46,843).
The salary, as shown above, is based on the College’s London pay scale, which includes a consolidated weighting/allowance, which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area.
Terms and Conditions
