  • Base Salary: $132,658 – $139,054 (p.a.)
  • Total Effective Package: $160,655 – $167,851 (p.a.)*
  • Full Time, 12 month Maximum Term contract

Congress provides a comprehensive, holistic and culturally – appropriate primary health care service to Aboriginal people living in and nearby Alice Springs, including eight remote communities, it is a strong political advocate of closing the gap on Aboriginal health disadvantage and a national leader in improving health outcomes for all Aboriginal people.

About the role

This is an exciting new position within Congress. We are looking for the right person to come and join our team as a Suicide Prevention Manager.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities continue to be significantly impacted by suicide and suicidal ideation.

The Suicide Prevention Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Congress Suicide Prevention programs and services, including a team of suicide prevention workers. This position provides high-level oversight for the effective, high quality, and culturally appropriate delivery of suicide prevention and postvention services.

The position is located within the Congress Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Service with access to a network of peer support including clinical supervision. The SEWB team embeds three streams of care: medical, therapeutic and cultural and social support with intensive case management as required. People accessing the SEWB services have access to a dedicated GP and nursing team (healthcare pods) that can provide mental health care plans and integrated care through our therapeutic and social and cultural support model.
