An exciting opportunity has arisen within Dacorum Borough Council to lead the delivery of
Suitable Alternative Nature Greenspace (SANG) within identified and still to be identified
sites within the borough. Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspaces forms part of the
strategy/one of the measures the Council and its partner authorities have introduced to help
protect and reduce recreational pressure on Ashridge Commons and Woods, Site of Special
Scientific Interest.

As SANG Delivery Officer, you will be responsible for implementing the Council SANG Management
Plans initially at Bunkers Park and Chipperfield Common, but in time, at other sites across the
borough. At SANG sites, you will lead the site management there including liaising with
volunteers, organising community tasks and working with colleagues in our Clean Safe &
Green and Trees & Woodlands services. You will be the point of contact for residents and
local stakeholders such as Town and Parish Councils.

For new sites you will have the opportunity to lead consultation with stakeholders, colleagues
in Place (Strategic Planning and Regeneration), and work with statutory partners such as
Natural England in developing management proposals and management plans.

The successful applicant will have proven experience and knowledge in an environmental/
biodiversity discipline as well as experience of site management and preparing/implementing
management plans, stakeholder engagement, project management and, ideally, an understanding of
legislation relating to open spaces and common land.
