Wild Whatcom is a Bellingham, Washington based non-profit organization dedicated to fostering lifelong connections to nature through outdoor education programs offered to all ages and identities in Whatcom County. We provide inclusive experiential learning opportunities that inspire participants to explore, connect, and serve, while building healthy relationships with nature, community, and self. Wild Whatcom seeks 7-9 enthusiastic educators for our 2026 Summer Camp Season. Summer staff co-lead 4-day (M-Th) Pre-K (ages 3-5) day camps and 5-day (M-F) 1st-8th grade day camps in parks in Whatcom County, focusing on naturalist knowledge, outdoor activities, and wilderness skills such as firecraft, carving, and camouflage. This contract position is for Wild Whatcom’s 2026 summer season, June 12th-August 21st with no work on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. Hours will vary each week, 22-40 hours, depending upon scheduled camps, with an average of 30 hours per week over the course of the 10 week summer; however please let us know in the hiring process if you desire more or fewer average hours as that may also be available.
We also have a part-time position available starting in March, inquire if interested.
