What we want
The Summer Sea Term Physician works with other medical faculty to deliver health care to students and may assist in the day-to-day operations for assigned area.
What you need to know
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Current Medical License in the state of Texas.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to assess symptoms and make an accurate diagnosis.
Ability to prescribe treatment appropriate to patient’s condition and situation.
Ability to use and manage and electronic medical records (EMR) system.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Emergency room certified.
Experience working in somewhat isolated environments.
Responsibilities:
Provides Healthcare – Provides primary health care to students, which includes medical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications or treatments, counseling or education regarding health maintenance and disease/injury prevention, and promotion of healthy lifestyles.
Consults and Provides Referrals – Recognizes the need for consultation and/or referral for illness/injury outside the scope of practice/expertise.
Documents Medical Issues – Completes legible, accurate, and appropriate documentation of patients’ encounters in medical records in a timely manner.
