ABOUT THE JOB

To support the Area Manager and Logistics officer, in Control all the DRC & HDP Warehouse/Stores in coordination with Site operation officers. The main objective is to run and maintain an efficient and transparent logistics inventory system, which responds to the current needs for the area operations, including Emergency responses and complies with the DRC/HDP operations handbook.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand, respect and control DRC policies and procedures. Focus on supporting transparency and accountability of the organization.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with DRC & HDP Programme
  • Maintain accurate systems and regularly updating Warehouse / Inventory Database.
  • Assist with Logistics officer for preparation of any reporting required in terms of Stock Reports, Deliveries, Goods Received and compliance documentation.

Position’s Specific Objectives and responsibilities

  • Maintain and regularly update inventory records.
  • Conduct regular physical inspections of stores, ensuring correct storage and efficient stock rotation.
  • Prepare and submit the Monthly Explosive Report to the regional police department and Kabul office.
  • Uphold high work standards, ensuring proper stock handling, accurate record keeping, and effective storeroom management.
  • Oversee and analyze all incoming and outgoing materials for efficient management.
  • Review and authenticate all issuing and receiving documents.
  • Distribute supplies to various field sites as required.
  • Manage the issuance and return of explosives to HDP teams in the region.
  • Oversee the refueling of vehicles and generators.
  • Ensure vehicle servicing and maintenance adhere to DRC fleet guidelines.
  • Implement an efficient system for vehicle and generator servicing and maintenance as per DRC transport guidelines.
  • Conduct regular physical inspections of all warehouse/store centerlines, ensuring correct storage and effective stock rotation.
  • Maintain an accurate system for the regular updating of asset databases.
  • Conduct physical assets and stock counts in accordance with DRC asset and warehouse policies.
  • Manage the supply of goods and equipment to field offices.
  • Inspect new equipment before signing it in, as per the GRN report.
  • Provide timely services to staff and teams for signing out equipment and expendables.
  • Perform any additional tasks as directed by the Procurement and Logistics Officer.
  • Ensure accurate three-way matching of procurement documents.

Filing

  • Ensure that an organized filing system is in place.
  • Support team leader and Country Office Supply Chain in the provision of accurate updated documentation in case of audit
  • Ensure efficient servicing and maintenance system of all vehicles according to DRC fleet guidelines.
  • Ensure that an organized filing system is in place, which should include records of work done and vehicle performance records.
  • Ensure that the preposition spare parts stock at an appropriate level according to needs and availability.
  • Provide oversight on the management and maintenance schedule for generators, ensuring they are maintained and serviced.
  • Provide weekly work plans and monthly reports Procurement and Logistic Officer and actively participate in the weekly/ monthly coordination and departmental meetings.
  • Adhere fully to the DRC Code of Conduct.
  • Any other task and duties assigned by Line Manager, such as providing cover for a colleague who is away

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Three years’ work experience in the logistic field, at least two years’ experience with INGOs.
  • Should have de mining background or work experiences with de mining INGO/NGOs

Education/qualifications:

  • Graduated from High school
  • Knowledge of MS office package

Languages:

  • Graduated from High school
  • Knowledge of MS office package
