Role Summary 

Working under the supervision of the Team Lead Global Support Office (GSO) logistics Operations, this Unit is part of the Global Support Office for key logistics related activities other than procurement including but not limited to fleet management, stock/warehouse / asset management, logistic support. The main purpose of this role is to work within the GSO Logistics Operations Nairobi as follows: co-ordination of exports and imports for various country programs, procurement for items in categories as assigned, equipment and asset management, and facilities management.

Project Overview 

The Global Logistics team within Medair manages all the activities related to procurement, supply chain management, infrastructure, fleet, equipment & communication means. The team also develops and owns the policies and processes related to logistics activities in the field. The GSO Logistics Operations team in Nairobi is specifically responsible for Global and GSO Procurement, Supply Chain Management and Base Operations in the Nairobi Office.

Workplace & Conditions 

Global Support Office (GSO) position based in Nairobi, Kenya, Kenyan eligible citizens, or those with a valid work permit for Kenya.

Responsibilities  

  • Procurement: source goods/services, manage contracting documents, 3 ways match before payments, manage supplier relationships, manage internal customer relationship,
  • Logistics: Follow up on order fulfilment, organize transportation with freight forwarders, coordinate export documentation, track shipments,
  • Facilities Management: Manage user requests via internal portal Jira.
  • Asset & Equipment Management: Tag and verify assets, manage motor vehicles, conduct physical asset verifications, and advise on disposal of obsolete items.
  • General Support: Assist the Logistics team, cover for absent team members, and support emergency responses.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies  

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, ideally in Supply Chain or Business Operations.
  • 5-8 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in humanitarian logistics.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of international export and import protocols and Incoterms.
  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory management.
