Introduction :

UNDP in collaboration with the Greater Municipality of Amman (GAM) implements the project titled: “Embracing Adaptation and Resilience with Rainwater and Sunlight of Amman City to Protect Human Security of Vulnerable Population from Food Crisis and Climate Shocks”.

The project’s main objective is to reinvigorate urban farming in the capital city of Amman to strengthen the resilience of food systems to unforeseen shocks, whilst delivering national and global environmental benefits, improving the livelihoods of vulnerable households, strengthening social inclusion, and providing a platform for knowledge transfer between the different groups of Amman society and governorates in Jordan. In this context, the project will demonstrate practical measures on greening urban farming best practices. As an integral part of this vision, the project will implement Miyawaki Urban Forest in Al Jubeiha District, Greater Amman Municipality
