Job Summary

The position is at the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University — Pennsylvania’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service. The purpose of a Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities is to provide university and community training, innovative services and supports, technical assistance, research, and dissemination to support people with disabilities in their pursuit of independence, productivity, community inclusion, and overall quality of life. 
This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Policy and will lead the work of the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) – “gather for change” grant project.  This position is also part of a team working on person-directed services and supports (PDS), and family leadership training activities for parents and family members of children with disabilities, as well as people with disabilities themselves. Responsibilities also include work on disability-related policy addressing a variety of topics.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities: 

*Working knowledge of all applicable computer software and applicable professional principles.
*Design and facilitate effective virtual and in-person trainings for diverse groups, staff, external partners, and conferences 
*Supports content development for legislative visits and a virtual or in-person legislative event held at least annually.
*Participate in the development of project and grant proposals 
*Participation in program related meetings

Preferred:

*Bilingual Spanish speaking and translation skills 
*Acquired knowledge of the field of disabilities, especially federal, state and local policies and services concerning people with disabilities
*Experience building authentic relationships and working with diverse, underrepresented, marginalized populations
*Informed of leading and current evidence-based practices

This position requires a background check.
This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
