What you’ll be doing in this role
At Uniting we call our Home Care Workers, ‘Support Workers’. In this role, you’ll provide care and companionship for older people living in their own homes, to help empower their independence and improve their quality of life in the Nepean, Blue Mountains or Windsor areas. You’ll be required to travel to client’s homes and communities, using your own car.
With a focus on supporting our clients to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible, duties and responsibilities can include:
- Help at home: housekeeping, grocery shopping or meal preparation
- Personal Care: personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, help at mealtime or medication administration
- Transport: appointments or shopping trips
- Social and wellbeing: accompany clients on outings or assist with our Healthy Living for Seniors activities
Qualifications and experience:
- Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual equivalent an advantage however we are also interested in unqualified candidates
- Similar experience providing client centred care
- Current First Aid certificate
- Driver’s license and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
