THE ROLE

In this diverse and rewarding role you will provide vital support to women and families experiencing crisis/homelessness. You will be joining a supportive and inclusive environment for both our clients and employees. We value teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning to ensure the highest level of care and support for our clients. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide a variety of supports to clients and work in cooperation with the case management division in a way that is consistent with a client’s case plan
  • Maintain daily records and assist in all aspects of providing accommodation services for clients to an established quality standard
  • Build good relationships and provide a safe and welcoming environment for clients who live at, or are accessing the service
  • Ensure that the established accommodation standards are adhered to including: room inspections & safety assessments
  • Responsible for managing the flow of clients and visitors in the building in a safe and responsible manner as set out in service procedure.

YOU WILL NEED

  • Must be able to work the below rotating roster: Week 1:  Monday: 4pm – 8 pm , Tuesday & Wednesday 8am-12 pm , Thursday: 4pm – 8pm , Friday 8am – 4:30pm  Week 2:  Monday: 4pm – 8 pm , Tuesday & Wednesday 8am -12 pm , Thursday: 4pm – 8pm , Friday 8am – 4:30pm & Sunday 4pm – 8 pm 
  • The St Vincent de Paul Society considers being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
  • Appropriate Certificate or equivalent experience or currently undertaking tertiary study, in a related field.
  • Ability to use sound judgement, maintain confidentiality & act appropriately in crisis/emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated customer service & problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Ability & confidence to work and make decisions independently
  • High levels of empathy and ability to build rapport with clients
  • NSW driver licence.
