Mercy Community – Disability Services team, are looking for Superstar Support Workers (Casual role) who will work alongside a number of participants living in Brisbane North (or Moreton Bay) who require support with their daily living.

  • Brisbane North – Locations may vary: Wooloowin, Windsor, Nundah, Nudgee, Toowong, Griffin.  
  • Moreton Bay – Elimbah.
  • SIL and/or In-home/community access shifts

We currently have a variety of shifts available across Brisbane North (or Moreton Bay) from short 3/4-hour shifts, through to sleepovers and weekend work (On application, you can submit your shift preferences to help us understand your availability). 

  • The positions available are paid at Level 2 (depending on experience) of the SCHADS award (Casual rate is $40.26) + 11% Super + Salary Packaging pending experience. 

About the role

If successful in the role, you will support the team in: 

  • Being flexible to work sleepover and short shifts. 
  • Being flexible to work within the Brisbane North area. 
  • Medication administration, manual handling (hoisting), personal care assistance and managing challenging behaviours (highly desired skills).
  • Support with clients diagnosed with mental health / acquired brain injury / intellectual disability and/or physical disability (highly desired skills).  
  • Building/maintaining, trusting and meaningful working relationships with people we support. 
  • Providing direct support to people to achieve their goals using best models of practice and within service guidelines/frameworks.

If you have experience in direct supports in the areas of aged care or community services, your application will be considered. We also value candidates who are passionate about assisting people or who have lived/living experience of disability or family care and are keen to learn, grow and professionalise their experience.
