The Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response (EIPSR) program is a joint partnership between Eastern Health and EACH providing both clinical and psychosocial supports to Mental Health Consumers incorporating a holistic strength-based approach enabling Consumers to identify their individual recovery needs.
- 2 x Full-time 12-month opportunities available
- Based in Boronia – Outreach position
- $41.61 – $45.51 (depending on experience) + 11% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550
About the role
As a Support Worker, you will be managing a caseload of clients whom you will assist resolve and/or reduce barriers to stable self-care with low intensity community supports or access higher intensity/duration supports to achieve therapeutic outcomes.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Assist clients (aged between 16 to 65 years) by delivering psychosocial support to work towards identified recovery goals.
- Improve clients capacity for self-management of their mental illness, & develop the knowledge and confidence they need to make decisions & choices about their own support needs.
- Enhance client coping skills & decrease self-harming behaviour, learn or relearn skills, and develop confidence, required for activities of daily living.
- Improve social and relationships skills & develop or strengthen family and social networks.
- Develop & consolidate client links with educational, vocational training & employment opportunities.
- Assist clients to adopt a healthy lifestyle & minimise/reduce behaviours that are, or likely to be harmful.
Whilst there may be clients who would like to consider their NDIS possibilities, this role is NOT working within the NDIS.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a flexible thinker with not only extensive experience, but also demonstrated skills and knowledge in Mental Health and the Social Model of Health to join our multidisciplinary Mental Health team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- You must have experience as a case worker in mental heath.
- Bachelor qualification in Mental Health / Community Health or equivalent.
- Understanding of mental services interventions for responding to clients with complexity of needs.
- Understanding of vulnerabilities which people with psychosocial disabilities experience.
- Ability to collaborate & work in partnership with Eastern Health Case Managers, Team Coordinator, your clients, carers, family and EACH peer workers to assess, design & review client recovery plans.
- Ability to develop & maintain effective relationships within the team & with external stakeholders.
You will also require a current Australian Drivers Licence in this role.
