About the opportunity
- This is a casual position until June 2024, and will become part time, closed period contract until December 2024 (14 hours per week)
- Payrate – $36.54 plus 25% casual loading, plus super.
This role forms part of the early intervention programs that is responsible for facilitating school readiness supported play groups in South West Sydney.
What your day will look like:
- Facilitate school readiness of supported playgroups including programming, set up, facilitating and pack away of children’s weekly activities.
- Plan and implement diverse and age appropriate developmental activities for children attending the playgroup including transition to school.
- Develop and maintain working relationships between other services and families to improve health and wellbeing of families attending the playgroup.
- Promote the Playgroup to service users and providers in the Cabramatta LGA.
- Provide families with parenting information, support, advocacy, and referral/links to mainstream and specialist services and activities in their local community.
About You
- Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education fields.
- Experience in facilitating and developing diverse, age-appropriate activities for children aged 0 to 5 years.
- Clear understanding of needs of and issues affecting vulnerable families.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain networks and partnerships within the local community.
- Demonstrated understanding of Early Childhood development and attachment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- Proven Computer skills including use of word, emails, and willingness to be trained in Uniting’s data collection system.
- Be strength based, person centred and trauma informed in your practice.
- Current drivers’ licence and own vehicle.
