About us
The City of Kingston provides a number of supported playgroups for eligible preschool aged children and their families in a range of locations across the municipality. Supported playgroups provide an opportunity for families to strengthen their parenting skills and build confidence to enhance their children’s learning and development.
Our playgroup sessions are stimulating, vibrant and supportive environments where all families can feel welcome and accepted.
The role
We currently have casual opportunities for Supported Playgroup Facilitators to work in our Small Talk and Little Learner Programs, as part of our Children’s Services Partnerships Team.
Our Experienced Playgroup Team Members are responsible for ensuring that every single family has a truly exceptional experience at our facilitated playgroups. This includes providing support and information and ideas that assist families to build relationships and links with the wider community.
To succeed in achieving this, you will display endless energy and enthusiasm for children, families, and play. You will be comfortable engaging with children and families alike, you will demonstrate a genuinely kind and caring nature.
This casual position will be based at various playgroup sites across the Kingston municipality.
Our casual hours are school friendly; 9-1pm during school term.
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working in early years care and education settings or family support services
- A commitment to providing high quality programs and supports to families and children
- Experience working with families experiencing vulnerability and from diverse backgrounds
- The ability to be a team player and work autonomously

Mandatory Requirements:
- Essential : Do you hold a current driver’s licence which allows you to drive within Victoria?
- Essential : Are you willing to undertake a Working with Children Check?
