(Associate Governmental Program Analyst)

At Department of General Services (DGS), we are dedicated to leading state efforts in sustainability and efficient management of resources. Our department plays a crucial role in advancing environmentally responsible practices across various state operations and facilities. We are looking for a dedicated Sustainability Analyst to join our team in West Sacramento to help propel our sustainability agenda forward. As a Sustainability Analyst, you will be instrumental in driving our sustainability initiatives, developing projects that promote environmental stewardship and resource efficiency.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead the analysis and reporting on sustainability projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainability strategies that minimize environmental impact.
• Conduct comprehensive research and stay updated with the latest sustainability trends and regulations.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholder communication and strategic decision-making.
• Manage and monitor the performance of sustainability programs, recommending adjustments as needed to enhance effectiveness.

Preferred Skills and Experience

To succeed in this position, we are looking for:

• A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
• Proven experience in sustainability analysis, project management, and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data management and software tools.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
• A passion for sustainability and a drive to make a positive impact on the environment.
