Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role:
Southwark has declared a climate emergency and work is well underway to transform the council
and the borough so that we achieve our ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030.
Do you want to be part of the team making this vision a reality? If so, we are looking for an
experienced individual who can transform their passion for tackling climate change into
practical action that changes how the council works, and which leads and inspires residents and
partners to do the same.
We are recruiting for a Sustainability & Energy Manager, this role will be responsible for
contract managing the council’s energy contracts and ensuring we increasingly decarbonise
across our estate. You will work with colleagues across the council on the delivery of energy
projects as defined by the council’s Climate Action Plan, securing funding, pushing innovation
and ensuring the council’s energy policy is in line with best practice. This role will be part
of a small team responsible for delivering one of the council’s top priorities.
Southwark is an exciting place to work and proud to celebrate its diversity as a borough. We
particularly encourage and welcome applicants from Black, Asian and ethnic minorities since we
are underrepresented in this area of the business.
