Working Days: 37.5 hours negotiable for the right candidate
Length of Contract: 1 year fixed-term contract with possibility of extension

The Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN) is an organisation for farmers, crofters and the
public led by nature-friendly farmers across the UK.

We support farmers on their
nature-friendly farming journeys and demonstrate to policy makers and the wider public what
farmers and crofters can do to help nature and the climate, whilst still producing plentiful
quality produce. Farmers and crofters are key to addressing the climate crisis and biodiversity
decline; urgent policy support is needed to take nature-friendly farming to scale.

For this
role, we’re looking for a professional, persuasive and engaging individual with a sound
understanding of current agricultural policy and a good practical knowledge of farming and
crofting in Scotland. The successful applicant will also have the skills to engage with farmers
and crofters through a series of on-farm and online events to grow the network and spread
nature friendly practices.

The successful candidate will also have the skills and knowledge to
increase farmer, crofter and public awareness and understanding of nature-friendly farming by
effectively communicating the work of the NFFN to a range of audiences.

The post-holder will
work closely with the NFFN Scotland Manager as well as other NFFN staff involved in the farmer
and public engagement strands of the NFFN’s strategy. Based in Scotland and willing to travel
to farms, meetings and events when needed, the successful applicant must have a full clean
driving licence.

The Sustainable Farming Officer will be part of NFFN’s Scotland’s team and
work closely with the farmer-led steering group. The team and steering group work in tandem
across Scotland engaging in agriculture policy and knowledge sharing, and working closely with
farmers, crofters and other staff.

Closing date for
applications:
Wednesday 7th February, midnight
Interviews: 15th or 16th February
