Background to the Assignment

The vocational training program for the Sweets, Pastries, and food industry aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue careers in these fields. The training program is crucial to meet the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the sweets, pastries, and fast-food industries.

Scope of Work

The trainer will be responsible for:

  • Developing a comprehensive course curriculum covering techniques for preparing sweets, pastries, and fast food.
  • Delivering interactive training sessions that include theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations of preparation techniques.
  • Providing hands-on support to participants during practical training exercises, including recipe experimentation and dish preparation.
  • Collaborating with program management to incorporate feedback and improve the curriculum as necessary.

The training aims to achieve the following objectives:

The primary objectives of this course are to:

  • Introduce participants to the various methods of preparing sweets, pastries, and fast food.
  • Develop participants’ skills in the production, decoration, and presentation of sweets, pastries, and fast-food items.
  • Prepare participants for employment in various sectors related to the food industry.
  • Enhance participants’ understanding of quality standards, food safety, and relevant regulations.

Key Deliverables:

The trainer will deliver:

  • A detailed course curriculum including lesson plans, exercises, and learning materials.
  • Training sessions covering theoretical concepts and practical demonstrations of preparation techniques.
  • Training reports documenting participant progress and feedback.

LOCATION:

The training will be delivered in a training center in Azaz City.

TIMEFRAME

This is a short-term assignment for individual trainers for four months (with the possibility of extension) divided into two phases as follows:

Phase one: Providing VT:

01/June/2024 till 31/July/2024.

The trainer is expected to provide VT program theoretical and practical parts in the training center for five days per week, five hours per day. The trainer is expected to provide a training report for this phase.

Phase two: mentoring, and coaching:

01/October/2024 till 30/November/2024.

The trainer is expected to provide the needed support, supervision, and coaching for the trainees by conducting field visits (on-site). The trainer is expected to provide a training report for this phase.

It is possible to adjust the mentioned timeline according to the project implementation circumstances.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

The trainer should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant academic (or vocational) certificate in the sweets, pastries, and fast food industry or at least five years’ experience in these fields.
  • Teaching or training experience, preferably in vocational education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, food safety, and relevant regulations.
