The Role:
Contract Type: This position is being offered in a full-time capacity.
Contract Length: This position is funded until June 2025. Future employment is subject to ongoing funding.
Location: Penrith LGA (hybrid work arrangements may be considered upon application in line with our Work from Home Policy).
Remuneration: From $93,734 to $97,013* (potential maximum grossed up salary equivalent $102,109 – $105,389**)
*Based on skills and experience
**Based on NFP salary packaging tax benefits (which may be subject to criteria)
About:
- Maintain, gatekeep and help develop timely and accurate financial and management reporting system.
- Contribute to the identification, development, improvement and implementation of the finance systems, practices and tools needed for organisational success.
The System Accountant supports the Finance Business Partner and wider Finance Team with maintaining and developing financial systems, providing timely and accurate financial/management reports, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Some key duties of the role include (but are not limited to), assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, liaising with senior stakeholders to establish business systems and processes and leading and managing finance related projects as required.
To be successful in this role you will need to hold tertiary qualifications in accounting and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of Finance and Accounting.
Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Accounting Degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of finance and/or accounting including preparation, analysis and interpretation of accurate financial and management reports, budget reports and maintenance of an asset register.
- Previous experience in project management and implementation of accounting/finance systems.
- Advanced spreadsheeting and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proven ability to develop and improve finance systems and processes.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Desirable
- Experience working within a government funded organisation, the not-for-profit sector or within a contracts environment.
- CPA or CA qualification.
