Operating from the heart of Northern Ireland, the Centre will accelerate the adoption of digital twins to drive global competitive advantage for UK businesses. By creating the conditions for digital twins to be better understood, more easily developed and more meaningfully applied, the Centre will give businesses real-time capabilities to make smarter decisions and achieve better outcomes, enabling the potential of digital twins to be realised, not theorised. Through partnerships with industry pioneers, the Centre will demonstrate how digital twins can responsibly revolutionise critical industries in maritime, aerospace and defence, and advance the products, services, and systems of the future.WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties)With our operations in Northern Ireland expanding rapidly, we are moving to a new site in Belfast and the our IT Team is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator with strong technical skills to manage and support all Desktop, Server, Network and Cloud systems to provide a resilient, effective, and flexible IT environment for the business in our new Belfast office.You will work alongside both the IT team in London and the team in Belfast to ensure that support incidents are resolved in a timely manner to meet defined service level targets, and also to participate as a project resource as and when required, such as in configuration and maintenance of hardware and software infrastructure for the new Belfast site. This includes but is not limited to setting up laptops, servers, and networks, working with our various software platforms, and elements of system design.Areas of specific responsibility:
- Work with our IT and technical teams to manage and maintain systems in Belfast
- Setting up laptops and servers, installing OS and onboarding software management platform
- Setting up and managing local networks and user accounts
- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
- Ensure system performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards and thoughtful design
- Security: Managing environments in accordance with company security guidelines
- Health & Safety: Ensuring IT installations comply with company H&S policies
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade systems
- Manage cloud services – Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), MDM, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
- Lab and R&D Environments: Working closely with the technology and project teams to ensure that the IT needs for the lab and R&D environments are supported and aligned with company standards.
- Support the wider team efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, networks, SaaS tools, and related problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
Requirements
- IT Infrastructure & Solution Architecture: operating infrastructure and IT solutions (both Mac and Microsoft environments) in medium sized organisations.
- Information Security & Security Operations: managing for infosec requirements, such as Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO27001, working within policies and using solutions such as MDM (InTune/Jamf), Endpoint protection (Sophos), IAM (AzureAD, Okta) SIEM etc.
- Problem Management: Solution-focused and multifaceted approach to problem solving
- Scrum/Agile, Microsoft, ITIL 4 Foundation and/or other IT management certification
- CISM, CISSP, and/or other security certification
- Previous experience within the technology industry
