Information Technology (IT) Department is responsible for setting up IT strategy, policy and governance, planning for both short and long term perspective, aligning to organizational strategy and growth plan. IT is overall responsible to maintain a healthy, stable, scalable and secured IT operational environment through constant review of capacity planning for IT infrastructure and enterprise architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
The System Administrator reporting to Manager, IT Systems will be mainly responsible for following duties and responsibilities:
  • Understand organizational objectives and provide inputs and suggestions for developing the overall organization strategy for IT systems;
  • Estimate financial and non-financial resources required to achieve targets;
  • Communicate and explain the final IT systems strategy to IT team members and other stakeholders to support the achievement of icddr,b’s objectives through IT initiatives
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the icddr,b IT infrastructure;
  • Conduct systems and network administration for seamless operation
  • Manage Windows servers (On Prem & Cloud), Administer Unix/Linux servers and cluster systems and Administer VMware System.
  • Manage and Maintain Microsoft Active Directory;
  • Administer Microsoft Exchange for both On Prem and Cloud environments;
  • Manage Azure Cloud-based Active Directory, DNS, and Cloud Management Gateway;
  • Oversee Microsoft SCCM services to ensure optimal system configuration;
  • Manage DHCP services, IP phones, and other network-related components;
  • Administer virtual machines through VMware for efficient resource utilization;
  • Utilize EMC Dell M1000e (Networker) for backup administration and Perform tape-based backup administration for data security;
  • Oversee Data Center operations with HP/Dell Servers, Blade Systems, precision AC, online UPS, and Cisco Devices;
  • Manage the Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) of VMware for enhanced efficiency;
  • Manage and Maintain Microsoft Exchange Online Protection (EOP);
  • Implement server and network device hardening measures;
  • Ensure risk-free infrastructure through effective patch management by SCCM and anti-virus software application;
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments with Nessus and penetration testing to enhance system security;
  • Provide security awareness training to stakeholders;
  • Ensure compliance with IT Security Management Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) alerts for potential incidents and facilitate incident response;
  • Utilize advanced detection capabilities within the Microsoft Defender portal;
  • Manage Web Application Firewall (WAF), Web Security Gateway, and Network Intrusion Prevention System (IPS).
  • Promote a spirit of collegiality and gender diversity amongst team members and in the organization;
  • Encourage team members to collaborate across areas;
  • set goals and conduct appraisals for the team;
  • Set high standards and confront poor performance where needed;
  • Mentor young professionals and prepare them for higher responsibilities;
  • Identify and reward high performers.
Required qualification and experience:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science & Engineering or Information & Communication Engineering or relevant subject.
  • 8 years (Minimum) of relevant experience in Systems Administration as a System Administrator
  • Expertise in DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Windows Server Management, and Azure Cloud services, with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience with VMware and backup solutions (e.g., EMC Dell M1000e Networker).
  • Have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in managing and maintaining Microsoft Exchange Online Protection (EOP)Top of Form
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in SIEM, Vulnerability Assessment, Web Application Firewall, Web Security Gateway (WSG), Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Enterprise Anti-Virus Solutions, and Microsoft SCCM Solutions.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Unix/Linux server administration.
  • Familiarity with Data Center hardware and software management.
