The IFC Controllers Department (CNT) is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing IFC’s Financial Operations (loan, equity and short-term finance operations, and back-office treasury support operations), Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, and Financial Integration, Systems and Projects (CNTFS). The Department comprises approximately 135 diverse and highly skilled staff, based in Washington DC, and Chennai.
CNTFS unit is seeking a PSystem Process Automation – Financial Analyst to manage the work program related to program management office, systems and automation, including (i) manage the cross-departmental coordination on smaller and larger projects involving changes to the CNT IT ecosystem and profitability analytics; (ii) manage the creation of efficiencies through automation and streamlining of processes and deliverables; (iii) assure IT systems projects are under budget and comply with business requirements and governance framework(s) and (iv) support CNT systems.
This position reports to the Head of the CNTFS unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of CNTFS work program: support the blended finance (CNTBF) business team in their automation initiatives, and implementation of IT systems and upgrades, as well as in the implementation of new initiatives and financial products to ensure that data is recorded accurately and timely; automation development & support for business requirements/projects initiated for the Controller’s business; providing management and financial accounting support for IFC financial, and reporting systems, designing datamining and analytical tools; and providing input into technology/automation development, actively managing project management office for various CNT and corporate initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the automation development & support for business requirements/projects initiated for the CNT units. He/ She is expected to independently undertake and deliver on specific substantive pieces of work assigned, in coordination with the relevant teams in CNT and across the World Bank Group.
• Provide support for CNT’s current and upcoming business automation endeavors, including initiatives related to replacement of the core systems and enhancements. Work involves close collaboration with various stakeholders and IT support teams.
• Provide technical support services throughout the IT project lifecycle for systems projects, in close consultation with business and IT teams (to include solution design, change management, development, testing, implementation, and stabilization).
• Collaborate with business counterparts and business analysts to understand core functional and non-functional requirements and define solutions within the IFC’s business and IT architecture frameworks (in collaboration with the IT department).
• Grasp the business requirements and challenges to articulate them into business requirement specifications. The individual should possess the ability to dissect the business processes into smaller, manageable structures for automation purposes.
• Aid in the stabilization and expansion of the Innovation/Automation programs, utilizing IFC-supported tools such as Alteryx and Power Automate.
• Strategize and execute the development of designated use cases, collaborating with all relevant teams to facilitate User Acceptance Testing clearances and subsequent deployment in the production environment.
• Proactively inform all stakeholders about any identified risks or issues during execution.
• Actively contribute to resolving any encountered issues throughout the development/production lifecycle, working alongside counterparts to ensure timely closure of identified issues.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining a robust pipeline of Innovation/Automation projects with clearly defined benefit realizations. Additionally, identify opportunities to apply solutions to other units and operations to promote adoption, as needed.
• Support the training of business and other partners/stakeholders on Automation tools, products, and features, while guiding and assisting other team members involved in automation projects.
Selection Criteria
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, IT, or commerce with a diploma in software engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in application development (programming, SQL/Relational Databases, and SDLC).
• Experience with one or more RPA technologies, preferably Power Automate or Automation Anywhere.
• Experience with process analysis, documenting business/technical requirements, QA, and UAT is necessary.
• Ability to organize, be process-driven, and demonstrate the ability to prioritize work efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge and working experience in Alteryx is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues concisely to senior management, colleagues, and clients.
• Knowledge of IFC systems, procedures, and policies would be advantageous (systems such as SAP, ACBS, Investran, Quantum, and Summit)

Works across CNT and with other VPUs to define client needs and develop the right solutions to meet those needs. PLUS: Provides recommendations to multiple VPUs that can add value to customers beyond normal offerings.
• Broad Business Thinking: Maintains an in-depth understanding of key business issues. Sets clear explanations for the integration and alignment of CNT solutions with business functions. PLUS: consider WBG wide implications in decision making to ensure consistency across WBG. Sponsors long-term VPU-wide initiatives.
• Information Technology and Systems: Demonstrates understanding of the functions and operations of pertinent IT systems and applications. Provides inputs to IT system enhancement efforts based on day to day working experience and knowledge of the systems.
• Analytical Thinking: Coordinates the information gathering and reporting process. Reviews trends and compares to expectations. Conducts analysis to define problems and prepares responses to anticipated questions.
• Policies and Procedures: Demonstrates thorough knowledge of policies and procedures in related fields.
• Risks and Controls: Leads by example and serves as best practice champions in completing internal control procedures, including understanding impact beyond own immediate functional areas.
• Communication: Adapts the communication style appropriate for the intended audience. Adopts an inclusive approach to communication as is appropriate to the situation, to ensure adequate stakeholder participation. Presents information effectively and encourage feedback.
• Project Management: Understands and utilizes the concepts of project management, as they relate to implementation of a project.
