Hiring Unit: Bioresource Engineering
Course Title and Course Number: BREE 530 Fermentation Engineering
Estimated Number of Positions: 1
Total Hours of Work per Term: 45

Position Summary: Evaluating assignments and lab reports.  Supporting and leading lab discussion.  Preparing and supervising lab and projects.  Tutoring students on the content of lecture and lab exercises.

Qualifications: The candidate must have taken the course or equivalent. Extensive knowledge on fermentation systems. Have taken classes in micro organisms, biochemistry, physiology (plant and animal), biological design, heat/mass transfer, and an engineering design class. Experience on QAQC. Good communication skills and patience.

Additional Information: 

The McGill exam sessions take place over two weeks after the end of classes, and Course Lecturers are expected to be available on the day of a scheduled final exam and are required to grade final exams as part of their contract.

Please note that Teaching Assistants will be required on campus to perform their tasks in person.  Should anything prohibit in-person teaching activities, courses will migrate to remote teaching. In the event of such a change, Teaching Assistants will be advised as soon as possible.  Teaching Assistants may be required to perform tasks suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform [e.g., Zoom, WebEx] and the McGill myCourses learning management system.
