Org. Setting and Reporting
The incumbent of this post is responsible to the School Principal.
Responsibilities
Ensures the delivery of quality inclusive education to all students through: – Identifying the key concepts, content, skills and pedagogy appropriate to the delivery of curriculum subject areas taking into account needs of individual students; – Using a range of appropriate learner centered instructional strategies and techniques; – Enriching the host country’s curriculum where appropriate to develop the competencies of students and achieve UNRWA learning goals and values in line with UNRWA Curriculum Framework; – Assessing students’ learning through the use of formative, summative and diagnostic assessment; – Maintaining a safe and effective learning environment in the classroom and school compound in accordance with the UNRWA school code of conduct; Participates in the school co-curricular activities/committees and maintains links with the wider education community to improve the performance and wellbeing of students including activities on key social, environmental, health issues, child rights and protection. Actively engages in school-based and other professional development including peer support, discussions and training in line with UNRWA approved policies, processes, and procedures. Contributes to the systematic collection, recording and analysis of data in line with the school and UNRWA EMIS system. Effectively communicates with parents and the school community regarding learner progress and needs. Contributes to the school policy level development, planning and evaluation working as a team member. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Education
Grade 8 – Teacher Basic Education (The first entry level) This first entry level is for partially qualified basic education teachers. i) A university degree from an accredited educational institution in an appropriate subject, English. Grade 09 – Teacher Basic Education (The second entry level) This second entry level is for newly qualified basic education teachers. The minimum eligibility criteria include: i) A university degree from an accredited educational institution in an appropriate subject; English. ii) Completion of a minimum one year pre or in-service training course; Grade 10 – Teacher Basic Education This third entry level is for fully qualified basic education teachers. The minimum eligibility criteria include: i) A university degree from an accredited educational institution in an appropriate subject; English. ii) Completion of a minimum one year pre or in-service training course; iii) 5 years of teaching experience as a teacher – Grade 9; Grade 11 – Teacher Basic Education This is the highest level attainable by fully qualified teachers. For teachers to move from Grade 10 to 11 the following eligibility criteria apply: i) A university degree from an accredited educational institution appropriate subject; English. ii) 10 years of experience at grade 10; iii) Completion of a minimum one year pre or in-service training course; iv) Satisfactory performance in PERs for the past 5 years; v) Successful completion of School Based Teacher Development (SBTD);

Work Experience
This is first entry level is for partially qualified basic education teachers, No experience at this entry level is required. Staff members appointed with qualifications as prescribed are eligible for promotion to grade 09 upon obtaining a pre or in-service teacher training course of at least one year duration, is required. This is the second entry level for newly qualified teachers, basic education prescribed No experience is required. Eligible for in service promotion to grade 10 after five years satisfactory services as a teacher with the Agency from the date of EOD, or from the date on which s/he becomes fully qualified as a teacher, whichever is later, is required.
Languages
Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic and good command of written and spoken English.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Desirable qualification: N/A Conditions of service: The monthly earnings for grade 8 will starts from USD 1,255.2 (Monthly Salary 1,065.20 + Supplementary Allowance USD 190) and for grade 9 will starts from USD 1,268.5 (Monthly Salary 1,101.50 + Supplementary Allowance USD 167) Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.4% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).
