Summary of Job Duties:

The Teacher Quality Partnership (TQP) Academic Liaison develops, implements, and supports the delivery of services to participating students, school staff , and community members from prospective status to licensure. Travel for this position may include visiting participating community college and NWA rural schools. Advising, and mentoring may occur after 4:00 p.m. to accommodate students’ work and class schedules. The TQP Academic Liaison assists participants with applying to college, creating an individualized program of study, managing program transitions and requirements, and registering for classes. This position develops relationships with faculty, working with participants in the College of Education and Health Professionals to provide courses offered in the evening to accommodate work schedules of participants. The TQP Academic Liaison will work with various departments on campus and with community colleges to discuss processes for paying tuition, fees, textbooks; enrolling students into courses requiring departmental approvals. This position maintains participant records and documents and reports on participant progress and project-related activities. In addition, the TQP Academic Liaison will work as a site coordinator during the courses taught remotely through the University of Arkansas.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in education, counseling, social work, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • A minimum of at least three years of teaching experience

  • Experience mentoring, supervising, and/or evaluating the education of students

  • Pre-service teacher field experiences, and/or early career classroom teachers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least five years K-16 teaching experience

  • Experience recruiting

  • Experience with pre-service teacher preparation

  • Experience in academic advising and/or student support services

  • Experience with Blackboard/BbLearn or other online learning management system

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Interpersonal and multicultural skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for scholarly writing, refereed presentations, and grant writing

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.

Salary Information:

$59,000
