BIEN 462 Engineering Principles in Physiological Systems

Total Hours of Work per Term:

1 TA position for 85 hours

Position Summary:

  • Assist Professor in preparing, grading, and reviewing HW sets & other assignments, quizzes, exams. Duties can include marking or demonstrating or tutoring.
  • Prepare, conduct, and lead tutorials.
  • Monitor and participate in discussion boards on MyCourses
  • Assist course instructor with the instruction and evaluation of students.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be familiar with the fundamentals of continuous and discrete-time signals and systems; linear-time invariant systems; ordinary differential equation and difference equation system representations; frequency domain analysis and Fourier transforms in continuous and discrete-time; sampling; filtering; Laplace and Z transforms; feedback systems and basics of control; programming in Matlab.
  • Preferred applicants will have a strong interdisciplinary background and experience related to the application of signals and systems theory to the analysis of biomedical systems.
  • Lead 1-hour weekly tutorial
  • Applicants must currently be students enrolled in a program at McGill University. Priority will begiven to students currently in the priority pool, and graduate students.
